From the Wilds
A Book List for Midsummer
As a borderline unhealthy reader and a proud enneagram 5, I take my role as the book-recommender in many of my friendships seriously. What are you in the mood for? Character-driven or plot-driven, research or reflection? What gaps or aches are you looking to attend to with this next read?1 At a recent conference, an unsuspecting soul asked me, “You’re fresh out of seminary. What’s new in the theology and arts world? Any recommendations from out there in the wild?”
Ask and ye shall receive alphabetized, annotated lists.
In this space, I find myself profoundly grateful for those of you who have invested in my writing and thinking about these crossroads of the performance of faith and the theology of reenactment. And so I offer you back what I love to give: books that invite you deeper. Below is a list of some of the recent reads that have inspired me and pressed me deeper into the project of The Rewilding Script.
